They maintain the technical documentation, act as the point of contact for market surveillance authorities, and make sure products are correctly labelled before being placed on the UK market. Conformity Services can act as your dedicated Responsible Person so you can sell legally without setting up your own UK presence.

If your business is based outside the UK or EU, you may be legally required to appoint an Authorised Representative established in the market where you sell. They represent you on regulatory matters and liaise with the authorities. This often applies to overseas sellers and online marketplace sellers. We act as your Authorised Representative for both the UK and EU.

Increasingly, yes. Online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy require proof of compliance for regulated goods — including the appointment of a Responsible Person or Authorised Representative for products like cosmetics, electricals and food supplements.
